Winery weddings.....dreamy right?

Winery weddings are.... a dream, right? Always gorgeous, romantic - and it wouldn't be an Okanagan wedding without wine! But I can confidently say that this winery wedding stood out in the bunch. While every wedding is unique, the rolling hills, classic Okanagan lake views and modern-bohemian edge makes Summerhill Pyramid Winery a serious contender for any couple searching for their perfect venue. This is the second time I've had the pleasure of using this winery as my backdrop, and it did not disappoint this time around either. I think the opening picture in front of that beautiful pyramid really says it all.

Now the romance of the wedding is one thing, but man did we have FUN. Margarita's were the bride and groom's drink of choice, so I brought tequila shots for the bridal party to kick off the celebration. You can check it out in the GIF below. One reason I love wedding photography is being able to see couples like this, so in love, and just having fun together. I live to capture that!

One thing that is unique to Summerhill Pyramid Winery is just how much variety you will find there. You can take a scroll through the pictures right now, and you'd agree with me immediately - this venue has it all. Go ahead, go scroll and come right on back....I'll wait.

The ceremony site overlooks the lake and hills. Some of the pictures you'll see here were taken at Okanagan Mountain Park - just a short drive from the winery. You can take full advantage of the tall, dry grass as well as looming dark trees there, which makes variety in your photos so easy. I loved taking those pictures - the contrast is perfect. It's not something you'll find many places. Then back among the vines you're transported back to the classic winery romance- full of softness, enchantment and greenery. Lastly, in front of the pyramid you get a simple edgy backdrop for a modern feel that makes a great place for fun photos. You can even get photos in front of the pyramid door, where they age the wine. It's a photographer's paradise... *sigh*. A cap in their hat is appealing to every style a couple might envision for their day. And I can vouch for this - stunning shots were easy to find with scenery like that.

Extras

If you're thinking this might be the venue for you....you should read on. The winery provides a bottle of champagne for a sabre cutting that the bride and groom are shown how to do. There is an area for cocktails and mingling, a ballroom with dining tables and a dance floor and beautiful windows all along the reception area. And if you're contemplating food options, look no further than their exquisite menu. Just thinking of it makes me hungry, and isn't that what you want for your wedding guests?
